Lucario, the Aura Pokémon, and the evolved form of Riolu. By sensing the aura of its opponents, Lucario can read their thoughts and movements.
– Ash’s Pokedex
Lucario is sort of like Gen IV’s mascot. Despite it not being a legendary Pokemon, it starred in its own movie Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. Lucario is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Appearance-wise, it reminds me of Anubis the Egyptian god. It has a thorn on its chest, must be uncomfortable to hug.
Lucario’s type of Fighting/Steel is unique (Cobalion from Gen V is Steel/Fighting). It evolves from Riolu by happiness, which is kind of annoying in Gen V, since you can find wild Riolu at a pretty high level; you can’t breed Riolu because it’s a baby Pokemon, and it’s much harder to gain happiness when it’s high leveled.
Stat-wise, it’s got both high Attack and Sp Attack, as well as good Speed. Its defense isn’t great, but the Steel type gives it many resistances. Lucario can learn many priority moves, like Extremespeed, Vacuum Wave, Quick Attack, and Bullet Punch. It’s one of the few Pokemon to learn Aura Sphere; and it can learn Dragon Pulse despite not being Dragon type.
