When it overflows with power, the orange crystal on its body glows. It looks for underground water in caves.

Boldore is Gen V’s version of Graveler. Like Graveler, Boldore evolved at leve 25, and can be further evolved by trading. The two Pokemon also have the same base stat total. Unlike Graveler though, Boldore is pure Rock type, not Rock/Ground. I’m not sure why it’s not Ground type, but Rock/Ground is a pretty terrible combination defensively, so maybe Boldore is better off not being part Ground.
Boldore is also similar to Graveler in that it lurks in caves, and annoys you to no end when you try to explore caves with no repels. Plus, Gen V changed the mechanics of how Sturdy works, so that you can’t even OHKO Boldore anymore, unless you have a multi-hit move or something (Arm Thrust on my Pignite/Emboar was quite helpful in eliminating Boldores), making it even more annoying than Graveler.
Stat-wise, it has high Attack and Defense, but poor Sp Defense and low Speed, as expected of a Pokemon based on a Rock I guess.
