#155 Cyndaquil

1920×1200 | 1920×1080 | 1600×1200

Cyndaquil, the Fire Mouse Pokémon. Normally mild and even tempered, Cyndaquil will shoot a scorching flame out of its back when upset.
– Ash’s Pokedex

Cyndaquil is my fave 2nd gen starter. Its flame on its back can be turned on or off. Its eyes are always closed, makes me wonder how it can see.

In the anime, Ash had a Cyndaquil, it had trouble using Fire type attacks at first, and Ash had to do some rigorous training with it to get its flames out. It actually evolved into a Quilava. Dawn also had a Cyndaquil, which she got as an egg from Lyra (the HGSS female player, who showed up one episode). It was used as part of her contest team, being paired up with her Mamoswine to do moves like the Flame Ice combo. It evolved into a Quilava during the DP special (after the end of the series). Even though both Ash and Dawn had Cyndaquils, neither evolved into Typhlosion.

Stat-wise, it has good Speed and Sp Attack. In the Dreamworld, it gets Flash Fire, which is a better ability than Blaze I think.

  1. Sorry that this request is so long since flygon was made, but could you make a shiny flygon? This is the BEST blog!

  2. Cyndaquil is so cute! I choose it as a starter in my Soulsliver game and his name is Flame. He’s now a Quilava and it knows Flame Wheel, Strength, Attract and I think he has Rock Smash. He’s at level 26. Flame also can ” the feet” Murkrows at level 27. Take that!

  3. Wow, this is amazing stuff! WHat program do you use to make these and how? Maybe one day you could do a ‘how to make a Pokemon wallpaper’ video!
Is it okay if I use this on my playmat design?
    Cyndaquil 🙂
