Primarina is the fully evolved starter of gen 7. Its typing of Water/Fairy is only shared with Marill, Azumarill, and Tapu Fini. Its design is rather feminine, and the Ultra Moon Pokedex calls it a “songstress”, despite it being a mostly male species.
I used Primarina as my starter for Ultra Sun. It was pretty useful as a tank.
Stat-wise it has good Sp Def and Sp Atk. It has a signature move in Sparkling Aria, which turns into Oceanic Operetta (a 195 base power water type move) with Primarium Z.
